Hey,
Did you notice that Substack and Medium homepages (once logged in) look the same? Interesting. Just a recent observation I thought I’d share.
December is my vacation month and my business is on autopilot.
Here’s how I’m doing it…
I use tools
Tools help big time. They save me time, save money and make me more money.
The tools that run in the background 24/7 are platforms like Gumroad that I sell my ebooks on and Teachable where I host my digital courses.
I’ve talked about using Jasper and Copy AI too. These have been game-changing for my content business, helping me grow my traffic by over 500%!
I’m playing around with ChatGPT too. It’s been all the buzz on social media with talks of it possibly replacing Google in the future. It’s pretty fun to play around with. Not perfect but, I like it so far.
Email is a no-brainer for business of course and something as simple as turning on vacation mode helps me tell people who contact me that I’m away so they don’t think I’ve ghosted them.
Convertkit (Systeme will replace soon) and Substack are always run in the background helping me collect emails to my email list and run email sequences.
Then there’s…
Batch content creation
This is just what it sounds like.
I create content in a big batch and then I can schedule that throughout the month while I am away. You can use tools for this or hire a virtual assistant.
It takes literally no time at all for me to press a button to post a story to Medium or Newsbreak, for example, so I just do it myself and I really don’t consider at work during my vacation.
The same with social media. I make a big batch of drafts then publish them as I wish during December.
How’s the time off been?
Honestly, I haven’t done a whole bunch yet. Just getting my house in order, winter cleaning and getting ready for family to visit. I’m trying to do fun things and really enjoy myself so I can get a proper reset for when I return to work in January.
So, that’s how things have been going and that’s how I avoid stressing out while on vacation, because I have tools behind me and I know the power of batching, which has been incredibly helpful.
Are you taking time off for the holidays?
How are you doing it and what are your plans?
Cheers,
Jenn
Interesting tools. Time to check them out. Thanks Jenn.
Will do Jenn
