Can you believe it’s October? I’m stoked we are in Quarter 4 of the year. Whenever Q4 comes, I always think about money.
How can I end my business with a bang for the year?
What can I do to prepare so I can take the last 2-4 weeks of the year off?
What’s something I can try?
Is there a fun project I can delve into to keep me busy and keep my mental wellness in tact while I’m working my butt off to end the year well?
These are just some of the questions that come into my head around this time of year.
Fall is a lovely time.
It’s my favorite season of the year and it’s pumpkin spice, tall boots, hot chocolate, cuddling up, sweaters, cozy socks, and fireplaces. The smell of cinnamon, getting dark super early which is always fun for me, and just a happy time of year.
For me at least.
So, here are some money-making ideas you may consider for ending the year off with a bang.
This is for…
People who want to add a short-term income maker to get a boost before the holiday season
Folks who want to add an extra long-term income stream to their bottom line
Business owners who want some ideas for funneling more money into their businesses
Let’s go!
Q4 Income Makers to Think About
Ok, some ideas here…
1. Audio courses
If you’re my day one, you know I have been talking about this FOREVER. I want to do this so bad but, it just seems like I don’t have the time. Avid.FM is a company that offers this. I’m sure there are others.
These are audio courses. Like audio books but, longer-form, I imagine. Anyway, hoping to kick this off in 2023.
2. Website flipping
You already know I’m going to include this one in here. I’m working on my umpeenth website right now, getting ready to flip it next week.
I built it in one of my website flipping cohorts where I build and flip a website in public.
This high-income skill is something, once you learn, you can do over and over as often as you wish.
For more, here’s my Medium reading list which has a ton of articles about how me and my students have been flipping tens of thousands and hundreds of thousands of dollars in websites.
3. Faceless TikTok
Another one I have GOT TO MENTION: faceless TikTok busienss. This is perfect for people who are shy, introverted or just don’t want to show their face publicly on social media.
Create a business using TikTok without showing your face.
This article shares tons of examples of how to do this. I’m starting this tomorrow actually, and I’m building in public in my first cohort of faceless TikTok businesses. If you want to join in, I’m closing down the cohort very soon.
The ebook is here and the cohort is here (a Facebook group) where you can watch me demonstrate this process (and join along if you want).
4. Arbitrage
Buy something cheap, sell it for a more expensive price.
Buy a crockpot for $40 and flip it for $100
Buy some Pirate’s Booty puffs from Sam’s Warehouse or Costco in bulk and resell on Amazon
Source goods on sales at Ross Dress for Less or TJ Maxx and resell online on Ebay
Some quick examples to illustrate the process.
This is incredibly easy to do and something I’d do every holiday season for years. It helped me make a few hundred dollars in holiday cash.
How to start?
No ebook or course on this. It’s incredibly easy to do. Find a sale like a clearance sale. Pick a product. Something you might personally buy or something you might find desirable or think someone else would like.
Then, Google it to see what the price is at other places. If you’ve found a gem, that means the item is on sale for a lot cheaper than what other places are selling it for.
Buy it, and resell at that place, like:
Walmart marketplace
Facebook marketplace
OfferUp/LetGo
Amazon
Ebay
Have you ever tried this before?
5. Grocery delivery/food delivery
If you’re a car driver, this is a good hustle for some good money. Deliver food, alcohol or groceries. You know the companies: Doordash, UberEATS, Instacart, Shipt, etc.
I like this because it’s on-demand. Do it when you want. And, you get paid weekly with some of the apps and even on-demand with some of them.
Here’s my post on how to apply to Doordash.
6. Consulting
Consulting is not my favorite thing but, I have done it before. It’s about sharing your expertise with others to help them…
Business consulting
Spiritual consulting
Financial consulting
This isn’t something you can only do if you have 20 years of experience. I have seen plenty of 20-something year-old consultants helping anyone and everyone with that “thing” that they’ve mastered, whether it was dropshipping, running Amazon FBA businesses, writing online, etc.
If you are an expert in an industry, monetize that knowledge by consulting others. Don’t sleep on this one, it can be very rewarding and very lucrative.
7. Affiliate marketing/digital marketing
Refer products to other and earn a commission if they buy with your affiliate link. I think this is something so many businesses can integrate into their company as an added income stream.
That’s why when you make an online purchase from Old Navy, at the confirmation screen you get a bunch of offers you can opt into, like magazine subscriptions, Hulu trials, etc.
I get the same thing when I make a food order online, etc. Affiliate marketing is just everywhere.
I make a full-time income from it and I work a few hours on it every month (like under 10 hours, probably under 5, honestly).
My free ebook which explains more on how it works and how to make money with it.
Enjoy your week! Happy October!
