Hey there,
Hope your week has been awesome. I wanted to talk about get-rich-quick schemes including how some of them actually work!
Haven’t we all been scammed by get-rich-quick schemes?
Hopefully not ALL of us but, I certainly have.
When I was 18, I started to be drawn to entrepreneurship and working from home. I’d see these flyers for envelope stuffing around my college campus.
I must have looked at dozens of these ads. You send 5 bucks and they send you materials to stuff envelopes from home. I think they paid you per envelope stuffed or a flat amount for the project, I don’t remember.
I fell for it a few times.
One time I actually did get something mailed back to me but, it was absolutely nothing. I mean, it was a few flyers that explained envelope stuffing but, was nothing.
Luckily, I didn’t lose too much money (only 15 bucks) or too much time but, that’s one of a few get-rich-quick schemes that I have fallen for.
It’s embarrassing to talk about but, hey, you live and you learn.
I was a naive 18-year old but, there are there get-rich-quick schemes that do work?
What is a get-rich-quick scheme?
It’s a money-making opportunity that promises fast wealth for little investment (either money, time, or both) that’s not true.
Examples are: pyramid schemes, crypto schemes, etc.
Many times, they are associated with online or the internet, but, not always.
Here are some get-rich-quick schemes that actually do work…
Gig work
People talk less about the gig economy today and more about the creator economy but, a lot of these gig work jobs are great for quick, legit income.
Drive for Uber or Lyft
Drive rideshare food delivery like Doordash and others
Task-based work like Taskrabbit
Grocery delivery like Instacart
Dog walking (Wag and Rover are examples)
Some of these take longer than others to get off the ground but, for many, once you apply and get approved, you can start working and hit the ground running. I think these are some of the best ways to make money fast.
Affiliate marketing
Why some people call this a get-rich-quick scheme is beyond me. This is a real business model. It’s widely practiced across the globe and it’s legit.
It’s helped me add a $4,000 a month income stream to my business.
I’ve listened to a ton of podcasts and interviews from marketers that have changed their life because of affiliate marketing, going from nothing to six figures in six months or earning $400K in 3 months.
It sounds absolutely nuts (in the best way).
I’ve been talking about high-ticket affiliate marketing for a while. I’m testing something new right now that I’ll reveal soon but, so far, it’s working.
I’ve thought about coming out with a course or ebook on affiliate marketing but, I honestly don’t want to charge for this info so, I created a free mini ebook to explain affiliate marketing and talk more about the process. Click here to grab your free copy.
Real estate investing
I don’t know how this could ever be a get-rich-quick scheme. It takes a long time, is difficult, and does not work for everyone.
What’s better?
Investing in fractional shares of real estate.
This lets you participate in real estate rental income passively with as little as $100 as your investment. ArrivedHomes is a company that offers this. Here’s my review to learn more about how it works.
Alternatives to Make Money Online
These alternatives to add an extra income stream I am a big fan of…
Blogging
Starting a personal blog or blogging on Medium is personally rewarding.
It’s fun and a great way to connect with an audience.
Most bloggers do not make good money but, if you stick with it, remain consistent, use SEO, and continuously strive to improve, you have a good shot of making a nice side income through blogging.
Content creation
It’s becoming harder and harder to be a content creator. You can suffer from creator’s block, get burned out, have extremely slow periods, get your social media or content account blocked or have your views reduced.
It’s not all roses, but, I love content creation because it lets me be creative. It’s a lucrative way to make a living and you can do it full-time, working from home.
I’ve just started another TikTok account (I have around a dozen or so accounts now) and it’s exciting developing it from the ground up.
This new TikTok account will be monetized with affiliate marketing and goes along with the new affiliate marketing test I’m trying out that I wrote about up above.
If you want to get into this, here are 2 resources (my ebooks) that can help:

Thanks Jenn. I appreciate all that you do!
I'm assuming Arrived Homes is for residents of the US Jenn?
