Case study: My $400/mo faceless TikTok account

Hey there,

Hope your week is going well. I wanted to share my $400/month faceless TikTok case study with you to show you how anyone can literally go from zero to hundreds or thousands of dollars per month with faceless TikTok.

Crafting my $400/mo side hustle with faceless TikTok from scratch

First, I decided I wanted to create a TikTok account for the purpose of generating income. This wasn’t something I did for fun or as a creative outlet that later turned income-producing.

I knew from the start that I wanted it to make me money.

So, I took a few minutes and launched the free TikTok account.

It was in the make-money niche and I wanted to monetize it with affiliate marketing.

The plan was to create a bunch of short-form videos on TikTok (around one to five per day) to hopefully get the follower count to 1,000 as quickly as possible.

If you don’t know, 1,000 followers is the minimum you need to place a link in your bio on TikTok.

Creating the content and monetization

I had at least one other TikTok account in the make-money niche so ideas for content were not hard to come up with.

I went 100% faceless with this account, from my profile pic to the short-form videos I posted.

The filming happened using my cell phone and my computer screen.

That’s it!

My first several dozen videos performed pretty well for the account size. I was getting videos with thousands of views on them. And, I quickly hit 1,000 followers.

What kind of videos did I make?

All in the make-money niche.

Some examples are:

• Get paid to XYZ

• $XXXX doing this

• $XX per hour doing that

And, I monetized with Clickbank and Panthera affiliate network affiliate links using a free Beacons linktree link.

What worked

• Posting a lot

• Posting consistently

• Monetizing with a link in bio

What didn't work

• Choosing low-paying affiliates

Imagine getting dozens and up to hundreds of conversions a month but only earning $400/month.

That’s because the low-paying affiliates I chose only paid out between $1 and $12 each.

That makes it a volume game.

Instead, with the same output, if it were a $50 commission, for example, that would’ve easily made me thousands or tens of thousands of dollars.

That’s back when I was still figuring out the right way to do affiliate marketing. I’m no pro now but, I do earn a full-time income from affiliate marketing alone.

So, looking back, that’s something I would’ve changed.

Final Thoughts and What Happened

Everything was going well with that TikTok account, and just like that, my engagement dropped big time. I still don’t know why.

My videos went from getting thousands of views each to a few dozen views each.

Big change.

That made the money I was earning on the account go down big time and I decided it wasn’t worth it to continue the account, rather than buckle down and ride the wave.

I’ve had drops in engagement on other TikTok accounts of mine, too.

It happens sometimes. Some have recovered, and others haven’t.

Affiliate marketing is only one of the many ways you can monetize a faceless TikTok account. It can be very lucrative. I just listened to a podcast where an affiliate went from zero to $50K/month in affiliate marketing commissions in literally just a few months.

There are so many income generators tied to social media. Brand deals, selling products, services, the sky’s the limit.
